The Difference Between Migrating and Converting

Understanding the distinction between migrating and converting is crucial for sellers transitioning from Corjl 1.0 to Corjl 2.0. These are two separate processes that work together to complete your transition.

🔄 What is Migration?

Migration is the one-time account-level transition from Corjl 1.0 to Corjl 2.0. It moves your seller profile and settings to the new platform, but does NOT automatically update your designs.

🔧 What is Conversion?

Conversion is the manual process of updating individual designs from 1.0 Legacy functionality to 2.0 functionality. This must be done after migration for each design you want to update. Due to differences in canvas technology, some adjustments may need to be made to designs during the conversion process.

📝 Please note: Converting your Legacy designs is completely optional. They will continue to work as usual for your customers without conversion.

📋 The Workflow

  1. Migrate your account from 1.0 to 2.0 (one-time process)
  2. Convert your designs manually, one by one, if and when desired
  3. Review and make adjustments (for example, fix any disconnected clipping masks, adjust any text shifting or spacing issues, etc.).
  4. Test converted designs

⚠️ Important Notes

  • Migration only moves your account - designs stay in Legacy format
  • Conversion is required for each design individually
  • Clipping masks will disconnect during conversion and need reconnection
  • There may be some differences in text character and line spacing that need to be adjusted
  • Both steps are necessary to fully use 2.0 features

🎯 Summary

Migration = Moving your account to 2.0 (one-time)

Conversion = Updating designs to use 2.0 features (manual per design)

Don't assume migration automatically updates your designs - conversion is a separate manual process!
