Design Settings - Canvas Tab

The Canvas Settings area is where you can find and edit the information such as the canvas name, design size, and resolution that you set when you originally created the design.

Transparency Feature

This feature refers to the appearance of the canvas background when it is set to “transparent” or “none.” You can choose from the following options from the drop-down box:

  • White – The canvas will appear white when the Transparent or None option is selected.
  • Black – The canvas will appear black when the Transparent or None option is selected.
  • Custom – Selecting this option will allow you to choose a custom color for the Transparent or None background using a color picker tool.
  • Checkered – The canvas will have a gray and white “checkerboard” appearance when the Transparent or None option is selected for the background.

Resizing a Design

To change the size of the design, change the Width and Height amounts to the desired new dimensions.

When resizing a design, you have two options:

1) Resize the canvas while also resizing the design elements with it

2) Resize the canvas without resizing the design elements.

  1. Resize Elements Along with Canvas – To resize the design elements on the canvas along with the canvas, make sure the Design option is selected from the Resize Options setting. When resizing both the canvas and the elements, you will have the option to either maintain the current aspect ratio of the design (so the elements are resized in the same proportions) or not.
    1. Keep Aspect Ratio – When this option is selected, the design elements on the canvas will be kept in their current positions related to each other and resized along with the canvas.
    2. Uncheck Keep Aspect Ratio option – The elements will be resized with the canvas, but will not necessarily keep their relative positions to each other. Use the drop-down options to select from the following:
      1. Scale Height: the elements will be resized and the proportions will be kept to fit to the top and bottom edges of the new design size.
      2. Scale Width – the elements will be resized and proportions will be kept to fit to edges of the new width of the design.
      3. Scale – the elements will be resized to fill the canvas without keeping the aspect ratio or proportions. Images may be distorted or stretched in the process.
