Layer Protections Tab

Use the options in this area to assign levels of customer control to individual elements on the canvas. To get to the Layer Protections, open a design and go to the Design Protections view in the upper right corner. On the next screen, go to the Layer Protections tab.

You will use the preview image of the design to select individual elements on the canvas and assign levels of controls for that particular item using the following options: Text Controls, Text Character, Paragraph Limit, and Image Controls.

Text Controls – These options allow you to prevent customers from leaving a text box blank (Require Text option), and prevent the customer from changing the following options for text in a text box: font size, text color, font, text/wording, style, and change text to multicolor.

Text Formatting – Allows customers to see and use the Bold, Italic, and Underline formatting options for text in a text box.

Paragraph Limit – Allows designers to set a specific max or minimum number of characters allowed for a text box.

Image Controls – These show when an image is selected on the canvas.

  • Replace Image Permissions - Allows whether the selected image can be replaced by the customer with either a designer image, uploaded image, or both.
  • Image Size - You can also lock the size of the image so it cannot be resized (Lock for customer > Size),
  • Image Style - Lock the Styles for the image so they cannot be changed (Lock for customer > Styles).

Please note: These options will override any settings in the Design Protections area for that individual element. See Global Inheritance article for more information.
