Design Protections Tab

The Design Protections tab is where you will go to manage the access and permissions your customer will have with your design.

Please Note: You may notice that some of these features have small dotted line around the selection box. This is related to our Global Inheritance feature and means that these options are linked to your Global Designs Settings. It is encouraged that you read the information on this feature by clicking on that link before changing the settings in your designs.

Options in this area include following design elements: Images, Background, Text, Colors, Pages, and Other.

• Images – Selecting the Upload their own images option will allow customers to upload their own images to use in the design and also use these uploaded images to replace images on the canvas. This setting can be overridden for individual images on the canvas in the Layer Protections area.
• Background – Allows the customer to change the background of the design. Selecting Change background image allows customers to add or change the background to an image. As with the Image options, you can allow for use of designer provided images, and/or images the customer uploads themselves. Selecting Change the fill color allows customers to change the background color, including using a gradient color option.
• Text – The Add new text boxes option allows customers to add new text/text boxes to the design. Selecting the Bold text, Italicize text, and Underline text options will allow the end user to have access to these features for text.
• Colors – This area is for management for two features involving the Color Picker and how customers can use colors in their purchased designs. The two features are outlined below:

  • Enable Color Palettes – When this feature is selected, customers will be able to view and use Color Palettes that you have created in the Design Editor. After enabling this option, you can choose which of the created palettes you want your customer to have access to by clicking on the Color Palettes drop-down box, and selecting those palettes.

    

  • Locked Color Palettes – If you want to limit the colors your customers can use when editing their design to a specific set of colors, you can click the Locked option after selecting the desired Color Palette. This feature will restrict your customer to only use the colors of the selected Color Palette whenever the Color Picker is available.
• Pages – Allows customers to duplicate pages of the design.
• Other – These items give your customers the ability to use the following features in the design:
  • Show/Hide Bleed – allows the customer to hide or show the bleed on the canvas.
  • Show/Hide Rulers – allows the customer to show or hide rulers on the outside of the canvas as well as have access to the Guides feature.
  • Access Layers – designates whether a customer will see and be able to open the Layers panel for the design. (Please note: this will also hide the text and image preview windows.)
  • Revert to Original – shows the Revert button and allows the customer to select it to undo any editing changes that have been made and revert the design to its original layout.
